Partnership with CODE NGO:  “Developing Sectoral TB Agenda, Documenting and Replicating NGO Community Participation in TB Control” in four (4) provinces in Mindanao which involved –

  1. The documentation of best practices or models of NGO-led or sector based initiatives on community participation to control tuberculosis in TB LINC Project Sites. Case Studies in TBLINC areas were done to look into successful NGO-led or sector-based initiatives on social/community mobilization which has contributed to increasing TB cure rate and detection rate in a locality; policy and financing advocacy to sustain TB program in the LGU; budget advocacy and monitoring; monitoring of program implementation; and other NGO-led or sector-based initiatives that contribute to successful implementation of the TB program at the local government or community levels. The first case study focused on the experience of a Subanen Women’s Organization in mobilizing the Indigenous People’s participation in TB control in two municipalities of Zamboanga del Sur, namely Kumalarang and Lakewood, a TB LINC project site in Mindanao. The second case study focused on the experience of the Mampising Multipurpose Cooperative of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries in Compostela Valley, Southeastern Mindanao. The third case study provided a brief description of the experience in TB Control Management of Maria de Mattias Clinic in Quezon City, which is run by a religious community as part of their ministry.
  2. The Design and conduct of a Regional Advocacy training workshop in Mindanao for CSOs and LGU health officers to advocate for community participation in TB Control which led to the development of the TB-Focused Participatory Governance in Health Framework of CSOs not only in Mindanao but in other CSO regional networks.
